San Francisco Beer and Music Festival
Rock Star Beer Productions held their first San Francisco Beer and Music Festival on November 21st. The Las Vegas company easily appealed to locals and sold out almost a week in advance. The event was outdoors at SOMA Streat food Park and showcased multiple local and regional breweries as well as local bands and DJ’s. There were over 50 craft beers to please your palate over and over again.
Brooklyn – Film Review
Brooklyn tells the story of Ellis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan), an Irish immigrant and her journey to find a place to call home. She leaves Ireland and sets off to the United States in the early 1950s, naïve and untouched by the world, she looks out to make a better life for herself in America.
The Kid Thing – New Conservatory Theatre Center
You can catch the Bay Area debut of, “The Kid Thing” directed by Becca Wolff, at the New Conservatory Theatre Center until December 13. The play written by playwright Sarah Gubbins was the winner of the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Play 2012 and an Edgarton Foundation New American Play Prize.
Fight For $15 Supporters Come Out in Oakland
Workers in over 200 cities came out today to demand livable wages. The majority of low wageworkers are adults trying to make ends meet. It’s no longer a “transitioning teen” job into the workforce. In addition, women hold the majority of low earning jobs. The demographic the wages hurt in Oakland were apparent, families.
Dia De Los Muertos San Francisco
Hundreds of people came out on Monday, November 2 to participate in the annual Dia De Los Muertos festival on Mission Street. There were Altars organized by the Marigold Project set up in Garfield Park prior to the parade. The Altars varied from deeply personal, to school projects, to political ones dedicated to those that have been evicted due to gentrification.

Several hundred people showed up in solidarity at Mission & 24th Street BART plaza in San Francisco to call out mass incarceration and police terror on Sunday, August 23, 2015. Families who’ve lost loved ones to police brutality and abuse of power were present to speak about the injustices that occurred, and the pain they experience from their loss.
Timken Museum’s Art of Fashion
The Timken Museum of Art in Balboa Park showcased a rare exhibition of fashion inspired by fine art at the eighth annual Art of Fashion 2015 fundraiser on April 20, 2015. More than 200 fashion enthusiasts from throughout Southern California attended the event, led by honorary chair Dame Zandra Rhodes, international fashion icon and designer.
