The PRIDE Flag raising ceremony in the neighborhood of Hillcrest kicked off this years PRIDE weekend celebration in San Diego, CA. Happy tears were in the eyes of many on July 20, 2012. “Flags are extremely important. They are symbols we rally around in times of triumph and in moments of great sorrow,” said City Councilman Todd Gloria during the ceremony.
